No hot water in the bathroom during the stay made showering impossible. WiFi code didn’t work, leaving me offline. The room was cold at night, lacking adequate warm bedding. Noise from the pub below could disrupt sleep, especially if you're an early sleeper, and the walls were thin, allowing sounds from neighboring rooms to be heard.

Good vibes in Stevenage! 🍻
Super friendly host who had a lekker vibe! Room was clean and comfy, and I had a nice cuppa from the kettle—way better than I expected. Plus, the location was on point with takeaways just a hop away!
Stairs to my room were a bit of a jol, but guess that just adds to the charm.

The entrance stairs leading to the room were a bit messy, which might not vibe with everyone—some might find it charming, while others may not. be prepared for some noise. there’s a lively pub below that can disrupt sleep if you turn in early, and the walls between rooms are thin enough to hear conversations from next door.

My stay at Poacher in Stevenage had a few highlights. The double room with a private bathroom was clean and super comfy. The window opened, letting in fresh air, which was a big plus. Accessing the room directly from outside made it convenient, especially since I could grab takeaway food easily when the weather permitted. Plus, I appreciated that there was access to a shared kitchen for any late-night snacks. The staff quickly resolved a minor issue with the electronic door by giving me a physical key, which I found reassuring. there were a couple of downsides. The noise from the pub below can be a little intrusive if you’re an early sleeper. The walls between rooms are thin, allowing sounds from neighboring guests to come through, which could be annoying if you're looking for quiet. Despite these issues, the overall experience felt cozy and inviting.

The vibrant atmosphere above the pub was a highlight, especially for socialising after a long day of exploring.
Unfortunately, the walls between rooms are quite thin, making it difficult to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep with noise from neighboring rooms.

Welcoming vibe and comfy stay
I felt genuinely welcomed during my stay, with a clean and comfortable room that had great amenities like towels and a kettle. The location is fantastic, with shops and takeaways just a short walk away. One thing to improve would be the noise. being above a pub means it can be noisy at times, especially if you're hoping for an early night.

Just a solid selection for an overnight stopping in Stevenage with excellent value for money. The staff quickly resolved a minor issue with the electronic door by providing a physical key. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
